OUR STORY

THIS WAS US, THEN

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins  in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

Ephesians 2:1-3

THIS IS US, NOW

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.  Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10

OUR VISION

to see believers become devoted disciple of Jesus Christ and serve him according to the grace and gifts given to them.

OUR MISSION

to preach the Gospel  to all nations and to minster to Ethiopian and Eritrean communities residing in the Indianapolis area through the teaching and preaching of the infallible Word of God.

OUR VALUES

The Bible being God's own Word, written by men prepared and superintended by His Spirit, is of infallible divine authority in all matters upon which it touches: it is to be believed, as God's instruction, in all that it affirms: obeyed, as God's command, in all that it requires; embraced, as God's pledge, in all that it promises.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
  • Scripture: We believe that the sixty-six books of the Bible are the infallible, inerrant and inspired Words of God and it is the final authority for our life and ministry. (2Tim 3: 16, 2Pet 1:20-22, Num 23: 19, Psa. 19: 7, Heb 1: 1-3, Pro 22: 19-21, Lk 24: 44, 1Th 2: 13, 2Pe 3: 15-16, Ps 119, Mt 5: 18, Col 3: 16, Ro 15: 4, Mt 22: 29-31)

  • Trinity:: We believe that our God is one but revealed himself in three coequal persons. We believe that Father, Son, and Holy Spirit being each equal God yet three different persons. (Dt 6: 4, Mt 28: 18-19, 2Cor 13: 14, Mt 3: 16-17, Lk 3: 21-22, Isa 6: 3, Rev 4: 8, Eph 1: 11)

  • God the Father: we believe that God is the creator, sustainer and controller of everything on earth. (1Co 8: 4-6, Ps 90: 2, 1Ti 1: 17, Ps 145: 3, Ro 11: 36, 1Ti 6: 15, Ac 17: 24-25, Heb 4: 13)

  • Jesus Christ: We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. Jesus Christ is our Lord and savior, born of the Holy Spirit by the virgin Mary, died on the cross for our sin, risen from dead, ascended into heaven, will come to judge the living and the dead.  Jesus Christ is also the head of the Church. (1Pe 1: 19-20, Jn 3: 16, 1Ti 2:5, Eph 5: 23, Heb 1: 2, Isa 53, Jn 1: 1;14, Gal 4:4, Heb 2: 14-17, Col 2: 9, Ro 9: 5, Ro 1: 3-4, Col 1: 19, Heb 7: 26, 1Cor 15: 3-4, Gen 3: 15, Gen 12: 1-9, 2Sam 7: 12-17, Ph 2: 1-11, Ro 3: 25, 2Cor 5, Ro 5, Gal 3, Eph 1, Jn 6: 40, Jn 10: 28)

  • Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of Trinity and he is God. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit whose indwelling in all believers enables us to live godly lives. (Eph 1: 13-14, Joel 2: 28, Acts 2, Eph 4: 10, 1Co 12-14, Gal 5: 22, Jn 14-16)

  • Man: We believe that man is created in the image of God and totally depraved of sin. We believe that every person is born a sinner and is under the judgment of death.(Gen 1: 26-28, Gen 2: 16-17, Ro 11: 32, Ro 3: 23, Eph 2: 1, Gen 6: 5, Jer 17: 9, Ro 5, Ps 51: 5, Job 15: 14, 1Jn 1: 8, Pr 20: 9, Ecc 7: 20)

  • Salvation: We believe that salvation is only the gift of God and possible when the spiritually dead man is born again, made spiritually alive in Christ, and brought in to a proper relationship with him. We believe that salvation is possible only by believing in the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ. (John 3, Ac 4: 12, Ro 6: 23, Ro 5, Eph 2, 1John 5: 12, John 14: 6, John 6: 44, 2Tim 1: 9, Ro 8: 28-29, Gal 3: 6, Phil 3: 8-9, 2Co 5: 18-19, Heb 13: 20-21, Lk 13: 3, Acts 2: 37-42, 2Tim 2: 25)

  • Church: We believe in the visible and invisible Church. We believe that the universal Church consists of those people who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as their only remedy for their sin. We believe also that there are to be local Churches as well. We believe that local Churches have three major responsibilities, to teach the word, administer sacraments, and exercise discipline. (Eph 1: 22-23, Eph 5: 23-32, Col 1: 18, Rev 7: 9, Rev 2-3, Mt 16-18)

  • The Enemy: We believe that the ultimate enemy of God and man is Satan and the fallen angel.  We believe in the existence and personality of Satan. (Gen 3: 15, Mt 4: 1-11, 1Pet 5: 8-9, Eph 6: 10-18, 2Cor 11: 3, Job 1, Zech 3: 1-5, Lk 22: 31-34)

  • Heaven and Hell: We believe that there is a literal heaven where believers spend eternity and a literal hell, which was originally made for rebellious angels, where unbelievers will also be punished forever. It is also seen as a place of eternal conscious punishment for the lost. (Luke 16: 23-24, 2Peter 2: 4-10, Jude 6, Mat 11: 23, Mat 16: 18, Mat 25, Rev 20)

  • Last days: We believe in the final resurrection of the body of both believers and unbelievers for the judgment of God. (Gen 3: 19, Acts 13: 36, 1Co 15, 1Thes 4: 18-5: 11, 2Co 5: 10, Ro 2: 16, 2Pet 3: 11, Mat 24, Mark 13: 35-36, Heb 9: 27, Rev 20)
